Discover The Beginner Guide To Building State of the Art Computing Devices

January 26th, 2012

Learning how to build your own computer is not so hard. The hard part is coming up with the right configuration to match the needs and the budget. The parts to be used need to be the latest and able to handle the application(s) without too much redundant computing power and resources.

But it’s better to do this more systematically. The place to start is to find out what parts are required and how to assemble the parts into a working PC. It won’t start or will have problems if this is not done right.

The list of ‘necessary’ parts is simple enough. Buy a cabinet with an SMPS aka the power supply, and get a motherboard and CPU to match. Get a hard disk drive (hdd) and RAM (the memory). It’s not strictly necessary to buy graphic or network adaptors, or a modem because all these should be available as built-in chips on the board.

But while these built-in adaptors are functional, they may not exactly be able to keep up with all the applications. Most people end up getting extra cards for the network and display, and also buy an external modem. This hardware needs to be purchased based on the type of application the PC is required for.

For example, computers on client server networks need a high speed network card capable of dealing with heavy network traffic. Users of multimedia applications and those playing online video games like graphics intensive MMORPG games will need a high performance graphics adaptor. Others part configurations like the size of the RAM and the make and model of the CPU and motherboard also need to be chosen based on the same factors.

Then there’s the monitor, keyword, mouse, printer, webcam and anything else that is required and plugs in externally. The question still remains about putting it together into a fully functional machine. Well, it’s just a matter of learning the process once and the cabinet, motherboard and all the other parts come with detailed instruction manuals.

Also note that when the operating system is installed, it will need some driver files that usually come in CDs along with the parts, and some things may not work unless these drivers are installed properly. The motherboard, network, display, modem and sound drivers may have to be installed separately, depending on the operating system and the type of part and model. All said and done, it shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours. But first-timers who don’t know how to build your own computer should put aside the whole day.

How to Use a Marketing Software Program to Make More Money

April 6th, 2010

In this article I hope to help you decide if you should use marketing software for your Internet Marketing Business. If you already use software to help you market your business, I’d like to discuss issues surrounding its use. Issues like what is offered, ideas about spam, what to look ahead to, does your competition use it and how it can help you to make more cash faster.

In this context I use the phrase “marketing software program” to mean a computer program or software specifically designed and already being used for the clear purpose of increasing the bottom line of business. These can be productivity enhancing tools like software that builds or helps build websites at the push of a button. Or aids to promoting existing websites, which includes blogs, e-commerce sites, affiliate sites or in fact any url or domain.

When you talk about marketing software programs that really market a website address by helping to proliferate links all over the internet the question comes up of whether or not this is spamming. After all with push button ease ( and usually a lot of groundwork ) you can send links to thousands of websites. This can provide precious link juice that can quickly boost your site rankings. To do this by hand would take days or weeks or longer. Many marketers have determined it is not spam but reputable tools simply necessary to compete, while others have decided it is spam but they do it anyway. Still others feel that as long as they use good value content that adds value it is a plus rather than a negative.

There are dozens and dozens if not hundreds of different types of products available. Way too many to list here. Some of the most popular are programs that build websites, that help you manage content, and software that manipulates and helps to construct videos. There is a wide range of submission software that helps you to build one way links by submitting to blogs, article directories, forum directories, video upload sites like Youtube, software sites, RSS sites and a total lot more.

It’s crazy. The pricing. It can go from as little as $20 or $30 to factually thousands of dollars. From time to time it’s just a one time purchase and other times you can be on a monthly membership just to run your business. Before you scoff at the idea of a subscription remember that the bottom line is whether or not you are making more money and in less time. And happily or sadly you can’t always get the top software by spending the most money.

The excellent news is that if you choose good quality, confirmed and tested software, you can expect positive results. Like anything however you will need to keep your mind on good commerce practices. Not only should you not expect instant results but you really shouldn’t want them. You would like to see a reasonable and measurable progression. You want to add software a little at a time so that you can find what is most productive and what really works for your business which could be very dissimilar than what works for someone else’s.

Be forewarned, a marketing software program can only make you money if all your other methods are right and in play. It helps if you are already making money although the right software can help you launch and even start making money faster with a new venture. For Example you can drive tons of traffic to a website but if the offer sucks or the copy writing doesn’t convert you won’t make a dime.

Here’s something else to keep in mind. Your competition is using marketing software. To keep up you will need to use it too. It’s not a question of will you or should you use marketing software. The question is basically which software programs would you use.

My purpose in this piece was to offer you an synopsis of internet marketing software programs. Hopefully you came away with information that will help you in deciding which programs you may want to consider. We looked at the kinds of software available, we looked at various things that it can do for your business and even the way business owners think about software. Overall it is pretty likely that you will be able to find some use for marketing software in your business.

How To Record A Webinar in 4 Easy Steps

March 4th, 2010

Trying to record your webinar?

I can give you a few tips, but before I do, let me explain why you would even want to record it at all.

- Replays

There will be some people who are interested in your products even though they couldn’t come to your initial webinar. So recording it and allowing potential customers to replay it could generate more sales and more leads to other customers.

- Product Creation

A webinar recording makes a great stand-alone product when you upload it to a password protected site or burn it to a CD.

- Training Module

This one is related to “product creation” above. Record a webinar so you can add the recording to an existing product or perhaps extra training on a specific topic. You could even record webinars and use them as bonuses to give away with the purchase of one of your major products.

So, how to record a webinar?

Although your web hosting company may allow you to record, you will still want to record your webinar yourself as a backup. It’s possible you may even end up with a better recording.

Step 1: Login into your webinar host as the organizer and start your webinar

Step 2: With a second computer, log in again to your webinar but this time as an attendee.

The second computer needs to have screen capture software such as Camtasia so that you can capture your webinar that is now showing on the screen. Screen capture software will capture all of the video and audio from your webinar – and allow you to turn it into whatever file type you need.

Step 3: On your second computer that is recording your webinar, set your screen parameters and audio settings and hit “record.”

Also, follow these technical tricks: set your audio to record “inline.” Use a 1/8″ to 1/8 audio jack so that the computer records only the webinar and not your voice coming through from the second computer. This way you can be in the same room with the computer that’s recording your presentation.

But if you plug one end of the 1/8″ cable into the mic jack and the other end of the 1/8″ cable into the headphone jack, you can set the recording computer right next to you and even see in real time what your attendees are seeing. This helps with lag problems and is a great safety check when presenting live.

Step 4: When finished recording, render the file either to burn to a CD or for uploading to the Internet.

You can also spice up your recording by adding music on the front end and back end. Make sure to use royalty-free so you don’t get in trouble. You can also add a “call to action” on the web page that has your webinar replay. This way, they don’t have far to go when they watch your replay and want to buy!

Recording your webinars is easy and can be extremely profitable. Give it a try and watch your sales increase by leaps and bounds.
