Web Design Along Using Search Engine Friendly Techniques

November 14th, 2009

If you have a business and you decide to start up an online presence for yourself, obviously the first thing to do is to build a website, however, simply having a live site and actually doing business with it are two very different things. Once a site is live and active, it should make sales and bring in business for you, otherwise what’s the point right? Well the chances are it won’t do anything for you when it first goes live, but this is exactly why search engine optimization or SEO is a huge part of the online industry today.

When you type a search term into a search engine, there are usually thousands of results that come up, however it’s only the first few sites that come up that ever get looked at because people aren’t going to look through thousands of results when the information or service they are looking for is usually in the first few results. Therefore the challenge is to get your site up to the top few results so that people will find it.

A big part of achieving this is to use the techniques that the search engine can detect in the design techniques such as frames. You should use frames that can be picked up by the search engine spiders when they crawl your site.

The vast majority of Internet users find what they want by typing certain keywords into the search bar of a search engine, and finding out what the most common search terms are for people looking for your service and use them as your page title, META and alt tags and if you can include these search terms in you URL then you will see results much faster.

When a site is designed well using SEO friendly techniques, you will be set in good stead to reach a good position in the results where people will find your site and you will start bringing in business from your new online platform.

Training For An IT Qualification

September 9th, 2009

The costs of training can be large and consequently off putting for many would be IT professionals. To take part in IT training courses for Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco etc can cost too much for many people, who then miss out on the benefits that a certified qualification can bring them.

There are low cost training options for people who feel that the costs are too high for them. You can train for your IT qualification off shore and gain your qualification for around half the price that you would doing it in the UK. It is the qualification at the end of it that matters, where the course takes place is not important.

The most important thing is to choose to conduct your training with a company that has a history of delivering top class results for all their students, but at a significantly reduced cost. It is obviously important that the quality of the course instruction is as good as that of UK based courses, so you should check your chosen company thoroughly to check that they offer truly first class tuition.

Obviously it depends on exactly how long your course is as to how much you will save compared to UK companies, but as stated above, it is usually around 50% which is obviously a huge reduction in your job acquisition costs. A certified Microsoft, Oracle or Cisco trained person will hugely increase their job prospects as the qualification is respected in all countries and industries.

Another advantage to training off-shore is that one-to-one tutoring is usually available and so on top of the huge saving there are to be made, you can also complete you training in a much shorter time-frame than would be possible with a UK large group course. Training is available in many countries but the best companies are located in or around India.

The decision to go and train abroad can be a huge and potentially life-changing one, so before you commit yourself to a particular company, you should ensure that they can deliver on all of their promises by checking their history of students and their pass rate, and that their training is fully approved and certified.

How Twitter Can Benefit Your Business

August 31st, 2009

Twitter uses the basic what are you doing now? information sharing forum, not unlike the one that Facebook uses, as the main heart of their website. The main focus of Twitter is to share what youre doing at that exact moment along with pictures and links etc.

Twitter is essentially, a massive database of people whore all interested in different topics. If you tweet about a particular topic on a regular basis, then others whore interested in that topic, and like what you write will follow you. Your words can then influences their thoughts on that topic and over time youll build up a large following which can be converted into business leads for your company.

How does it work?

First you need to sign up for an account. Ours for example is http://www.twitter.com/deeho

I would suggest trying to get a username that is related to your subject matter as it will be easier for people interested in your topic to find you.

You will then need to add some more information to your account such as some personal details, your website address and a small biography. This biography is searchable within Twitter so you should make it keyword rich in order for people to find you.

Tweeting itself is so simple it doesnt even need explaining. You have 140 characters to use to write your tweet about what youre doing or thinking about at that particular moment.

You can make a comment, or as most people do, you can use the 140 characters as a compelling headline with a link to your website or blog, where your Story is written in more detail. This is how most people use Twitter, to drive traffic to their main site, or to a recent news story they have written.

This is Twitter in its most basic form. You can use http://twitterfeed.com/ to automatically post each blog entry that you write onto your Twitter page within minutes of you publishing it. This saves you having to do two things.

You can also use http://bit.ly to shorten your blog URL and also to post your entries into Twitter. Most tweeters use this technique as it saves them having to paste everything they write into Twitter again and again.
