The Power of SEO

February 18th, 2010

When running a business, one of the key things to consider to make sure your business prospers is proper marketing and exposure. There’s a reason why companies pay massive amounts of monies to have their product shown on TV, print media, billboards and the like. If people are aware of your product, chances are when they are out shopping, that product will be on their minds.

Now, when it comes to online businesses, the ad campaigns of physical stores don’t always apply to it. Have you ever seen a billboard of an online business or a TV ad? Though there are some exceptions, like the big names like Google, Yahoo and Amazon, you rarely see small online businesses campaigning in the physical world. So how do they get the product across the multitudes of masses that scour the net? By marketing via the Internet of course.

This is where SEO, or search engine optimization, comes in. By having your site and its contents optimized, the chances of it being found via search engines grow exponentially. The same goes if your site is being linked to by other sites. This is a sort of indication of the popularity of your site, and thus, making it appear higher up the page rankings in search engines.

There are two ways you can go about having your website marked via SEO: you can do it yourself, or hire an SEO specialist to do it for you. There are pros and cons for each, but the end result is the same. Better exposure for your site and your products. If you do SEO yourself, you must have sound knowledge how SEO works and work with it. Though you will be saving money, the time required to do so would eat up time well spent concentrating on other aspects of your business. If you opt to hire an SEO specialist, you get an experienced SEO worker who knows the ins and outs of web marketing and it gives you more time for yourself and to focus on your business. However, of course, you’d have to pay for the SEO services being given. Which is a small thing really since once your site is marketed, you can expect your sales and profits to increase as well. Remember this: the more traffic, the more profits.

Such is the power of SEO. A seemingly simple task that happens to produce massive results. If you are an online business owner, consider applying SEO to what you do. Whichever path you take, whether doing it yourself or hiring an SEO expert, you can be sure that traffic to your site will improve dramatically.

Benefits Of A Home Business

December 28th, 2009

For so many people their jobs are a concern. They wake up each morning dreading the idea of the daily commute, sitting in their car on a blocked up road in traffic or standing meshed between other commuters like a sardine on a train. These people hate their jobs and as a result are not happy with their lives. The amount of people who live for the weekend is a dire reflection on society. Finding a job they enjoy or a their own home business is something that so many people would relish.

There are many perks to working for yourself as well as many pitfalls. The idea of making your own hours would appeal to so many people. Not having to get up at sunrise to get to the station to catch the train to catch the tube to walk for ten minutes to finally arrive at the office. Instead you can wake up, grab a stop of breakfast and head off to your computer in your slipper and dressing gown.

With your own business you feel so much more motivated to act. Everything you do has a direct affect on the success of the business and this is a massively motivating factor. You are not a slave to someone elses success. Your hard graft and effort does not end up bettering a company for the benefit of the bosses and shareholders. You are directly responsible for your own success and every positive move that you make helps you and your family and not some fat-cat at the top of the tree.

You also have the benefit of being able to take holidays as and when you want with no-one to answer to. Want to take your family on that long weekend away? no problem. As long as your business doesn’t suffer when you are gone and you have no pressing engagements then what’s the worry.

For many who work for themselves, you will find that your skill set grows significantly. Rather than doing the same old tasks day in day out, you will be challenging yourself constantly and your experiences are far more likely to be varied and interesting.

Of course, there are risks associated with working for yourself. First of all, you will not be getting paid a certain amount every month into your nominated bank account. Many people enjoy the security that this brings and the habits that become associated with this set up. It just way be that you start slowly and don’t make the money you expect. There will be snags here and there, and you just may fail.

It also comes down to how much you really want it. Working for yourself requires a good load of self motivation and organisation. If you don’t put in the work you wont get paid, its as simple as that. Additionally, you may miss out on the social side of things and other perks if you are working by yourself.

There are obviously pros and cons to setting up a home based business, but it really comes down to what sort of person you are and what sort of life you lead. For many the security of having their pay-cheque come in every month is comforting and they might have too much responsibility such as a family to provide for. However, if you have the opportunity and the drive it may well be for you.

If you are looking for a job, you are probably lazy. can i make money at home The internet makes many things possible. Don’t quit your day job until your part time income replaces it.

Is There Any Truth Behind The Free IPhone Offers?

December 19th, 2009

If you’ve used the internet even a little, you will be aware of affiliate marketing – you know when you get an email persuading you go to a website and sign up for a free trial. Are these sites genuine. How can they give free iPhones away? It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Well, when you delve a little deeper you’ll see a business plan which does make sense, and which seems to be working. Let me explain.

What is affiliate marketing and how does it work?

Affiliate marketing is a simple way to improve traffic and sales to a site. It is cheap and effective for advertisers and it almost always delivers the goods for a good return on investment. The most simple form of affiliate marketing is a google adword (you know those little links to the right of your google search page?). Links like these pay commission to the hoster of the link when they deliver someone to the site or get a sale out of them. For a click you might get a small amount, for a site where you get a number of people to sign up and take out a trial offer, the commission is considerably higher.

How do they afford giving away gifts such as iPhones iPods and Playstation 3′s?

Because of the way that sites like kudosnetwork and freebiejeebies (see below) are structured. The reason they can give you so much more is that most everyone who signs up wants to get an iPhone for themselves, and so it’s not just 18 referrals that you get, it’s the 18 referrals that each of the 18 people that you referred go out and get. That’s 324, and if all of those people want an iPhone, and get one, that’s 5832 customers all for the cost of 19 iPhones paid out, and so on it goes. As you can see, in a very short space of time, the numbers of people, and hence the income grows exponentially, and they can afford to honour their promise.

To buy advertising is not cheap. The advertisers know this, and look towards clever ways to get their product ‘out there’. With affiliate marketing the advertiser is paying the affiliate marketing site, who then passes on some of the money to you, who are actually bringing in the punters. Of course, it’s not free, but it only takes a little time and a little clever thinking.

What’s in it for the site owner?

They make a commission for everyone who takes out a promotion. They pass on some of this to you. As you are doing the legwork, you are identifying the people and persuading them to sign up; ruling out those who it would be wasted on. You are filtering out, through your knowledge, those who would never sign up. Effectively, you are doing the donkey-work, and the site owner is just sitting there and taking his cut. So as you can see, there’s quite a lot in it for him.

But if everyone completed their referrals, wouldn’t the site lose money?

It is possible that if everyone suddenly did complete all their referrals, that the site might temporarily be out of pocket, but they would raise the amount of referrals required to ensure that they are always making a profit. As you come at the bottom of the chain, you are the last to get paid, so to speak, so know that the sites always have cash, and that’s how they honour their contract with you, and give you your iPhone. Also remember, it pays for them to keep their reputation sweet amongst their agents (you guys), as without you and your clever efforts, they are nothing. Can they really afford to go around making promises they can’t keep? Not for long, and these sites are alive and well and have been for some time, so it appears they’ve got the balance right.

And what about the advertisers? If everyone cancelled their free trials, would they not lose out?

Again, they probably would lose customers (and money) if all people cancelled, but this is never the case. There are always people who forget, or who don’t know how to cancel. More importantly, the company gets one very important thing; your attention. They get a chance to make a good impression. Think of it as a ‘loss-leader’, a sales call. If they can convince you that what they are selling you is good, then you will buy it and they will have a happy customer and a revenue stream. The reality is that some will stay, some will go, and some will forget to cancel their direct debit (and so remain ‘gym’ members by default)

So, is affiliate marketing worth getting involved in?

Yes. Absolutely. And for everyone involved. Just have patience and determination and you will get there. If you don’t believe me, have a look on the web and see for yourself. The internet is plastered with examples of success stories of affiliate marketing. The question is, what have you got to lose by giving it a go?

Web Design Along Using Search Engine Friendly Techniques

November 14th, 2009

If you have a business and you decide to start up an online presence for yourself, obviously the first thing to do is to build a website, however, simply having a live site and actually doing business with it are two very different things. Once a site is live and active, it should make sales and bring in business for you, otherwise what’s the point right? Well the chances are it won’t do anything for you when it first goes live, but this is exactly why search engine optimization or SEO is a huge part of the online industry today.

When you type a search term into a search engine, there are usually thousands of results that come up, however it’s only the first few sites that come up that ever get looked at because people aren’t going to look through thousands of results when the information or service they are looking for is usually in the first few results. Therefore the challenge is to get your site up to the top few results so that people will find it.

A big part of achieving this is to use the techniques that the search engine can detect in the design techniques such as frames. You should use frames that can be picked up by the search engine spiders when they crawl your site.

The vast majority of Internet users find what they want by typing certain keywords into the search bar of a search engine, and finding out what the most common search terms are for people looking for your service and use them as your page title, META and alt tags and if you can include these search terms in you URL then you will see results much faster.

When a site is designed well using SEO friendly techniques, you will be set in good stead to reach a good position in the results where people will find your site and you will start bringing in business from your new online platform.

Limiting Your Keyword Selection on a Single Web Page

November 13th, 2009

By now everyone knows that keywords and SEO go hand in hand with one another. They are one of the main elements of optimizing your website and they must be paid attention to. However, many people overlook some of the smaller details with keywords that end up making a big difference in your success.

One of the overlooked factors that people don’t give much attention to is how many keywords you should target on a single web page. The truth is that many people want to do too much when they work with SEO. It’s easy to get ahead of yourself and try to cram tons of keywords on one page, assuming that the more you use the better. However, that’s not really the way that it works.

There was a time over a decade or more ago when the use of keywords was first gaining importance where the more you used, the more you ranked for. At this time nobody really knew anything about SEO and how it really worked, and the search engines themselves were still developing their formulas for how to produce high quality rankings.

However, this kind of strategy is no longer effective, and most people try to go after too many keywords on a single page of their website. If you have a huge list of keywords, it’s not smart to try to rank for each of them on every page of your site. You’re only thinning out your association with each individual keyword and wasting your time and effort. Additionally, your content will up looking spammy to both visitors and search engines that see all of those keywords on one page.

In addition to this, when you try to include too many keywords on a single web page you will end up looking like spam to both visitors and the search engines themselves. Therefore, with SEO and the usage of keywords, a simpler, more laid back approach is necessary. You want to target fewer keywords per page as opposed to all of them or almost all of them.

Knowing all of this then, what is the correct number of keywords to use on a web page? For a web page with 500 words or so, a sound strategy is to go after two or three individual keywords. For a page with less content you’ll want less keywords, and for a page with more content you can target a few additional keywords.

When you divide your keywords up onto individual pages like this for SEO, then you’ll be able to target each and every one of them more effectively. If you have 20 web pages on your site and 50 keywords, you can dedicate each page to two or three of them, expanding your scope and your presence in the search engines.

SEO has evolved a great deal over the last decade. You can’t try to rank every single web page on your website for every single keyword that you’re targeting. Instead, break up your keyword list and focus on 2 or maybe 3 keywords on a single page in order to maximize your success in the search engines.

Ways Of Article Marketing

October 23rd, 2009

Essentially, article marketing is a mode of advertising the products or services offered by your business. It has been used for many years; since the era of mass printing made it a viable opportunity for business owners. Obviously, in its earliest form article marketing was produced on paper and principally distributed in popular publications. However, today the distribution of marketing articles has been made faster and easier with the advent of the internet.

Article Marketing Today :

Article marketing, perhaps unsurprisingly, entails the writing of articles, which ideally are related in some way to your products or services. The articles are typically short, and range from 400-600 words, the aim being to interest a potential customer, but not bore him, or her, with too much extraneous information. A completed article is then distributed across the web on any number of free article sites, known as article directories. If written well, an article of this kind can garner interest in your business and attract potential customers or clients.

Today, internet marketing and e-commerce are big businesses. Subsequently, online articles marketing has become a popular form of advertising, especially among small companies that are unable to afford expensive methods of advertising. In fact, the world of online articles offers a mutually beneficial relationship: owners of article directories are provided with free content and business owners are offered free advertising.

The modern form of article marketing differs from its predecessors in other ways, too. For example, the presence of search engines has lead to search engine optimization, often known as SEO, which is the use of keywords and phrases to garner traffic to your article. In turn, this means that article writers and companies are able to target a specific audience, which ensures that their readers are also potential customers or clients.

Benefits of Article Marketing :

The chief advantage of article marketing, as already mentioned, is the fact that it is one of the very few free modes of advertising. However, there are many more reasons to explore the opportunity of article marketing. For example, well-written articles can increase the perception of your business. In other words, an interesting, informative and professional article will ensure that your company is perceived with high-regard.

Some article directories offer the opportunity to control the advertising space on your article’s page. This provides two advantages for a business owner. On one hand, he, or she, is able to ensure that no other advertising is competing for the same customers. Alternatively, it offers control over the advertising on the page and the potential revenue created from it.

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that articles marketing is a relatively easy way to promote your business. Once the articles have been distributed, they remain online for as long as you require them. Therefore, they can be a constant source of inbound traffic, with little or no extra work involved.

That said, the rise of article marketing has led to a decrease in the quality of articles and increased instances of plagiarism. Subsequently, if you plan to utilize article marketing it is wise to ensure that your text stands out for its informative content and high-quality. Submit your articles for free- Article Canyon
